december 2017 ipsy glam bag

Last month's Ipsy Glam Bag was a dud. But this month was great! The theme of this bag was "snow globe" and I'm giving Ipsy an A for effort. Almost all of the products were perfect for me and I was happy to try them out. Merry Christmas to me!

ipsy snowglobe

1. Smashbox Be Legendary Cream Lipstick in Legendary, $21-  This lipstick is perfect for winter. It feels more like a lip balm than anything, it's very moisturizing. My only issue is the color. This looks like a true red, but when applied it looks more fuchsia or coral. It just not a cute color on me, so I don't think I'll be using this again. However, I would definitely like to try this lipstick in other colors.
2. SLMissGlam L36 Tapered Highlight Brush- I can't find this brush for sale individually on their website, sorry! I really love it, though. I recently bought a Morphe M310 Large Soft Fan Brush to do my highlighting and, um...I was pretty disappointed by it. A couple days later my Ipsy bag showed up, I tried this brush, and loved it. It's so soft and applies highlighters beautifully...much better than that fan brush! I've received a few SLMissGlam brushes in  my Ipsy bags and I've never been disappointed by them.
3. NYX Cosmetics Faux Blacks eyeliner in Midnight, $7.99-  It's a Christmas miracle, folks. Ipsy finally sent me an eyeliner pencil that isn't black! This pencil is navy blue and it looks beautiful on my lower lash line. I've been using it every day, I absolutely love it.
4. CityColor Shimmer Shadow in It's a Girl, $3.99-  This is the second one of these shimmer shadows that Ipsy has sent me and I really like them. The consistency is very buttery and they have great color payoff. This shade looks like a cranberry red in the pan, but on it's pinkish-plum and it's so beautiful. This shadow is available in 24 shades and they're so inexpensive, I'm surprised these shadows aren't more popular.
5. Purlisse Sheet Masks in Green Tea + Ginger and Coconut + Rice, $36 (for a set of 6)-  I always love trying more sheet masks! These smell great, however they are slightly perfumey, so if you're sensitive to that, maybe don't try these. They also stay on my face well, much more than some other masks, which is always a plus. Besides that, they're your average sheet mask. They feel refreshing and leave your face feeling soft.

Have you tried any of these products? Want to try Ipsy?

  1. It's a shame about the lipstick, I always ended up with red when I used Ipsy. I love the sound of the NYX eyeliner.
