This month's Birchbox theme was "magic inside" and I was pretty happy with it. I loved everything they sent me, though not everything worked for me...I guess I loved the thought they put into it? Maybe I'm just extra-pleased with this box because my April Ipsy bag was such a letdown. Who knows, read on to find out what I thought of everything!

  1. Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream by Dr. Jart+, $48- This cream is to calm sensitive and irritated skin, and boy, my skin has been both of those lately. This cream definitely helped and honestly, I would purchase this product for the scent alone.
  2. Nourishing Mask by amika, $28- This mask smells so good and it did make my hair feel great, but I barely had enough from the little sample size to coat my hair.
  3. Resurfacing Mask by Tata Harper, $58- This mask smells a bit like a citrus-y cold medicine but other than that, it's great. My face feels so soft and smooth after use and my skin even looks a little brighter. I think continued use of this could be very beneficial and I could consider purchasing a full size.
  4. HIGH DIVE Moisture + Shine Cream by R+Co, $27- Birchbox first introduced me to R+Co a few months ago and have since sent me a few of their products. I think it's safe to say that R+Co is one of my top 5 favorite hair product brands and I am always happy to try more of their products. This, however, didn't wow me. I couldn't tell if it actually did anything to my hair, and I had to be so careful when applying it. One little bit too much, and my hair was too greasy for dry shampoo to fix.
  5. GRLPWR Liquid Lipstick in Imma Bawse by The Beauty Crop, $15- I was very excited for this, but the shade was a little too bold for me. It's a mix of berry and blood red, and that shade washes me out and makes me look dead. The applicator was also very difficult to work with, it was hard and didn't create smooth lines. I'm not sure if the applicator is different in sample sizes from the full size products, but if not, I would use a lip brush to apply this. Other than all that, it's a great liquid lipstick and I'd be glad to try it in a lighter shade.

Have you tried any of these products? Want to try Birchbox?

  1. I have tried the Dr Jarts Tigergrass cream which is great for my dry skin plus breakouts (perks of having an autoimmune/Crohn's Disease..not!)and super happy with my Benefit Lipstick (which happen to be my other sample choice but got that one too!) I got two hair products to test out and great toner so I am pretty satisfied w/ Birchbox for April!

  2. I've never tried any of these products, but I'm glad to hear you had a great box, especially after reading what a terrible time you had with the Ipsy bag! I would love to try the face mask, because I love anything that makes my skin looking a little brighter xxx
