Deer Isle Day Trip

This time of year in Maine, it's hard to find things to do. Most things are closed till April or May, so for a non-skiing, non-snowboarding person like myself, things can get a little monotonous. Spencer and I decided to explore a bit, even though it was 20 degrees outside, and went to Deer Isle, an island on the other side of the Penobscot Bay.

It was too cold and windy to get out of the car for more than a minute at a time, and even with the grass and trees all brown and dead, Deer Isle was still beautiful. We didn't know what we were looking for or where we were going, so we drove around aimlessly looking at the water and beautiful houses.

After realizing we had no plan and we had no idea where to go, we headed back to our town and went to a small nearby beach.

Ultimately it was a pretty uneventful day, but I had never been to Deer Isle before and I love exploring with Spencer. We're planning a few more day trips over the next few weeks and I can't wait!
