Music Monday #23 / 24th birthday

As you may have guessed from the title, my 24th birthday is this Saturday! So for this Music Monday I decided to make a playlist of the Billboard top tracks from my birthday/birthweek since 1992. I don't necessarily like all these songs...certainly not "Blurred Lines"...but hey, this is music history.

I recommend listening to this playlist in order, not on shuffle, but you do you.

Don't forget, you can follow me on Spotify or lurk the Music Monday tag on my blog.
You can find the top songs from your birthday here. What was the top song when you were born?

Birthday Wishlist

My 24th birthday is quickly approaching (the 30th ♌) so I've decided to share a short birthday wishlist. Some people would say that I'm too old to be making wishlists but...¯\_(ツ)_/¯  While I do have practical, boring, adult-y things on my official wishlist (like this shoe organizer), I've decided to share only the fun stuff. Because birthdays should always be fun!

Happy Alone t-shirt from Stay Home Club - I'm generally more of a plain black t-shirt kinda girl, but this shirt speaks to me, and probably many other introverts. Plus it reminds me of the Saintseneca song "Happy Alone" which I featured on this Music Monday post. It gets stuck in my head every time I look at this shirt!

Lonely Red Riding Hood print from Sherri DuPree-Bemis- I am in love with Sherri's art. Looooove. Each drawing is so whimsical, detailed, and intricate. This is one of my favorite pieces she has done. (I've also mentioned Sherri before in my post about who inspires my style. She is basically my queen.)

Bright Eyes' studio albums 2000-2011 vinyl box set- In my opinion, the albums in that photo are some of the best albums in existence. Bright Eyes has been my favorite band since I was 12 or 13 years old and I can't resist those exclusive pretty colors. The box set is a pre-order right now and won't ship till September, but hey, I can wait.

Nintendo 3DS XL- What can I say? Pokemon Go makes me miss playing the real Pokemon games. Especially since playing Pokemon Go in such a rural area doesn't work very well.
Floral Authentic Lo Pro Vans- It's been quite a while since I last bought a cute pair of shoes that weren't boots. I love Vans, I love black, I love floral prints. So obviously...

What's on your birthday wishlist? Tell me in the comments!

Where was I?

via my Instagram

It's been almost a month since I last posted, so here's what I've been up to.

I moved!
Good grief, it was such a process. A long, stressful, exhausting process. Although Spencer and I have done a ton of unpacking, I feel like barely anything is in its place yet. The only spot in the house that feels cozy to me is my bed. Instead of using a headboard, we pushed the bed against the window seat and made a comfy little nook with some plants.

I am enjoying this house much more than the last one we were in.
It has:

  • a (tiny) ocean view from the house and a private beach
  • character. This house is interesting, architecturally speaking, and isn't at all a cookie-cutter house like the last 6 places I've lived.
  • large windows that keep the house bright all day (something the last house seriously lacked)
  • lots of wildlife around. So far we've counted 9 turkeys, 3 adults and 6 babies, and quite a lot of deer. We've named the deer we see the most often Shayla and the turkey we see the most often Jerome.
  • a small waterfall nearby that I can hear when it's quiet in the house and the windows are open. It leads into the ocean.

As for the location, this area of Maine is one of my favorites and I'm so happy to finally live here. I'm happy to have good Thai restaurants nearby, I'm happy to live near a record shop, I'm happy to not have to drive 30 minutes to get to the grocery store. I'm still an hour away from Target, though. *sigh*

I also love how close we are to Mount Desert Island/Acadia National Park. The other day we went out to run some errands and ended up driving around Mount Desert Island. Spoiler: it's beautiful there.

Since I haven't been blogging, or even on my computer much at all lately, I've been using Grid Diary to document my daily life. Do you use a journaling app?
